- Thomasina Cornish 1831 - 31 Oct 1909 aged 78, of old age. Her son in law, James Paterson reported she was born at St Coloum, Cornwall, England and about 60 years in Victoria. Thomasina Cornish was a free settler to Australia, who arrived in Victoria as an unassisted passenger aboard the Adelaide in June 1849. Thomasina was 18 years old and travelled with her 26 year old sister Elizabeth. Within the shipping records, Thomasina's occupation was listed as a child maid and her sister as a house servant. They had travelled from their place of birth, Cornwell England. [1]
