8. | William Layton died Yes, date unknown . Notes:
His will dated Aug. 10, 1775 (R. L. A., P., 218, Ja.). He gives to his son William " the Silver Tankard." He appears to have been the first of that name in the Dutch congregation of 0. B. There was a John Laton who filed his " Ear Mark " in Hempstead, Feb. 4, 1766, who may have been William's father.

14. | Zebulon Seaman was born 17 Mar 1718; died 19 Feb 1784. Notes:
Zebulon Seaman was in the Assembly at Albany from 1769 to 1775. The Assembly offered a premium for the best linen that the Assemblymen could produce. They had to raise the flax, the wives to spin, and perhaps weave, the cloth. Zebulon raised the flux, Phoebe spun the thread and they took the premium. A piece of homespun linen was preserved by the family for several generations.
Zebulon married Phoebe Valentine (Vohles) 17 Apr 1743. Phoebe (daughter of Obadiah Valentine and Martha Willets) was born 1721; died 4 Aug 1803. [Group Sheet]
